Justyna Szpara, managing partner of Łaszczuk & Partners, has been invited to participate in a panel during 3rd IPBA Asia-PAC Arbitration Day organized by Inter Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) and Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA)on 25 September 2017, in Kuala Lumpur.
Justyna Szpara will be a panellist in the first panel exploring the current trends in the Court’s exercise of its supervisory jurisdiction. Focus areas will be appeals from questions of law, setting aside applications and interim measures. The central issue for discussion is whether there is an over disposition towards non-intervention that might be unhealthy for the arbitral process and/or the development of the law, and how different jurisdictions have developed case law to establish a set of principles that seek to strike some balance.
The conference will consist in four sessions:
- Session 1: The Judiciary – Has the pendulum swung too far?
- Session 2: Arbitral Institutions – Pushing the limits
- Session 3: Current challenges in the enforcement of international arbitration award and judgments.
- Session 4: The Great Debate
