On 8 November 2013 in Cracow, Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw, the Chair of Private Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Jagiellonian University and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Cracow hold a conference on Arbitration Award, which will address issues relating to awards of a court of arbitration, their content and form, as well as the extent to which they are binding and their impact on the situation of third parties. The conference is addressed to attorneys, scholars, and representatives of the judicial and academic communities.
Speakers at the conference will include academic experts with extensive experience in considering arbitration disputes. They will share their knowledge on the subject of the issuance of awards in arbitration proceedings, and will discuss the effects of such awards. The conference will consist of four panels. The first, moderated by Prof. Andrzej Szumański, will be on the binding nature of an award by an arbitration court. The second panel will focus on issues of the content and form of arbitration court awards, and will be moderated by Prof. Maksymilian Pazdan. The third panel will address the effectiveness of arbitration court awards towards third parties. The panel will be moderated by Prof. Stanisław Sołtysiński. The fourth panel will address the public order clause as a basis for challenging an arbitration court award, and will be moderated by Prof. Tadeusz Ereciński.
Maciej Łaszczuk, partner, will be a panelist in the second panel, discussing wording and structure of arbitration award.
