On 12-14 October 2015, V European Congress of Small and Medium-Size Enterprises was held. The Congress is the largest event for Small and Medium-Size Enterprises in Europe.
On 13 October, a panel discussion on the topic “Commercial disputes – how to succeed?” was held.
Maciej Łaszczuk, the founder of Łaszczuk & Partners, was moderating the panel. The panelists included Justyna Szpara, managing partner of Łaszczuk & Partners; Małgorzata Modzelewska de Raad, partner at Modzelewska& Paśnik; Barbara Piontek, Ph.D., University of Dąbrowa Górnicza; Paweł Gieras, President of the Kraków Bar; Roman Kusz, Chairman of the Image and Legal Protection of the Polish Bar and Vice Chairman of the Katowice Bar.
The discussion covered the following issues:
– How to minimise arising of disputes between entrepreneurs or with the participation of an entrepreneur; what to provide for and what to avoid?
– How to prepare for a potential dispute?
– What does the result of a commercial dispute in litigation or arbitration proceedings depend on? How not to lose? How to reach an optimal settlement?
The Congress was organized by Regional Chamber of Commerce in Katowice, with coorganisers: Polish Chamber of Commerce, Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP), Ministry of the Economy, Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiZ) and the University of Silesia.
The Congress was attended by representatives of science, politics and economy, as well as numerous foreign delegations.
