Conference on Commercial Content in Audiovisual Media Services was organized in Amsterdam on 25 September 2009 by Adlaw International (www.adlawinternational.com).

Conference organized by Cecile Park Publishing Limited, took place in Brussels on 18 May 2009. Jan Grygo took part in the discussion panel regarding the most important issues of the personal data protection in the European Union in the preceding year.


Perspectives of Development in Arbitration Conference
The conference Perspectives of Development in Arbitration took place on 20 and 21 November 2008. It was organized by the University of Silesia with the participation of the C.H. Beck Publishing House. Inter alia, Maciej Łaszczuk and Justyna Szpara took part in the conference and discussed the following issues: The impact of quashing of a foreign arbitration award on the existence of a Polish court decision regarding recognition or declaration of enforceability of such decision and The location where the judgment was passed and the location of arbitration (in the context of recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitration awards).


Copyright in the Press, Publishing Houses and Advertisement  Workshops

On 8-9 October 2008 took place the workshops How to Protect Copyright in the Press, Publishing Houses and Advertisement? One of the speakers was Michał Siciarek, who discussed the following topics: How to Properly Conclude Agreements on the Use of the Works? and New Fields of exploitation, Liability for Exploitation in the Internet.

The workshops were organized by MM Conferences SA.

Participation in works on the amendment of Copyright and Related Rights Act
Michał Siciarek, the chairman of the Intellectual Property Protection Comitee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland, prepared and presented before the Culture and Media Committee of the Sejm and the Culture and Media Committee of the Senate AmCham's standpoint on the amendment of the Copyright and Related Rights Act and other acts implementing into Polish law Directive 2004/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights.
